NEW FEATURE
Group Overview

We are excited to launch Group Overview, a centralised dashboard designed to help you manage the entire scope of work for a client group within a specific period.

Instead of opening binders individually, you can now view all jobs for a financial year on a single page, allowing you to quickly assess progress and identify outstanding issues across the group.

Key capabilities include:

  • Group Binder List: Filter by financial year and binder types to see all binders across the client group in one consolidated list.
  • Integrated Widgets: Access critical group information instantly via dedicated widgets:
    • Quick Notes: Capture and review ad-hoc group information.
    • Unresolved Queries: Aggregate open client queries across all entities to quickly identify if any follow-up is required.
    • Permanent Documents: Access enduring files (e.g., Trust Deeds) without navigating to individual entities.
  • Streamlined Navigation: Access Group Overview directly from the Workpapers menu, alongside your Binders and Client Queries.

Substituted Accounting Periods

Active Workpapers now includes full native support for Substituted Accounting Periods, eliminating the manual overhead of managing clients with non-standard financial years (e.g., 31 December or 31 March).

  • Intelligent Date Alignment: All workpaper headers, period formulas, and compliance dates automatically align to the specific substituted year-end upon binder creation.
  • Tax Rate Mapping: The system correctly maps the applicable tax rates and legislation to the substituted period, ensuring accurate compliance without manual overrides.
  • Seamless Workflow: Manage SAP binders with the same efficiency as standard 30 June files, with full support across creating, rolling over, and reporting.
IMPROVEMENTS
  • Convert Notes to Queries: Internal notes (such as Review Points, To Do items) can now be converted directly into Client Queries. This eliminates double-handling and speeds up the drafting of client communications
  • Reassign Notes: You can now move existing notes to different accounts or binder sections. This provides flexibility to correct filing errors or reorganise workpapers without losing context.
  • Notes & Queries Interface Refresh: The Notes & Queries page has been redesigned with a cleaner visual hierarchy. This improved layout reduces clutter and makes it easier to scan and prioritise outstanding items.
  • Primary Column Highlight: The active financial column in the Trial Balance is now visually highlighted. This visual cue helps ease cognitive load by clearly distinguishing the current period from comparative data.
Worksheet Content
Tax Planning Automation (Coming soon)

In addition to the standard annual compliance updates across the Tax Planning suite, the new TP32 Estimated Profit & Loss worksheet automates data entry by populating directly from your Trial Balance. This integration eliminates manual input, allowing you to bypass setup tasks and immediately focus on high-value planning and strategy.

IMPROVEMENTS

When working in a consolidated file which requires creation of a financial report, users will now be presented with an entity selection modal prior to generating the financial report. This allows us to customise the report pages, notes and disclosures to ensure they are filtered based on the selected entity and its entity type.
